TuTus for TaTas:  A Dance Partnered Cancer Foundation

In January 2013 my mother was diagnosed with late stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I quickly realized that I could not just sit back and watch my mom fight this disease by herself.  I knew I wanted to raise awareness and help families in need through the joy of dance.

Founded 2013

Founded by dancer, Katie Guilott Smith in 2013 after her mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Katie lives more than 2,000 miles from her mother and after taking on the responsibilities that come with the disease, she quickly knew she wanted to help make a difference.  Combining her philanthropic desires with her ballet career she founded TuTus for TaTas: A Dance Partnered Cancer Foundation.

Katie partnered with Campbell's Dance Studio for TuTus for TaTas first annual fundraiser.  Katie wanted to raise awareness as well as funds to support families through the financial burdens cancer brings.

Not wanting this to be a one time event, she hopes to continually support families in the area that are suffering from the emotional and financial burdens and to celebrate life through dance.
